Children's
Picture Books - Big Electric Cat
A giant mechanical cat, having escaped from a theme park in Canada,
defends a small and beautiful town in a Mexican valley. A young
boy hears about the cat on a radio and he seeks out the town. Warned
that the cat who defends the village might eat him, and that a big
storm is coming, the boy bravely continues on his journey. When
the boy meets the cat, and mistakenly thinks it might eat him, a
tornado descends upon the town and the mechanical cat jumps to the
town's rescue battling the winds of the tornado high up in the atmosphere.
The
story puts two courageous characters together, who find commonality,
despite their massive difference in size, in one community. The
story is about everyone's need of community, the lengths they will
go to find it, and the comradeship that develops in protecting it
from the sometimes cold North winds of change and progress.
